It doesn’t matter if it’s your wife, your husband, your mom, your dad, or your pets, family is everyone and everything that we truly aim to please in this life.
Heck, family is one of the main reasons that I personally lost track of my health… Obviously losing track of my health was a mistake and ultimately why I founded OptimizeCEO, but the point here is simple: We focus on things that are important in the present day.
We skip the peripheral vision sometimes and despite the fact that we may be working hard for a greater good, that the greater good gets pushed by the wayside in the interim, sometimes deferring the important components of our lives so much…. That they disappear.
Let me explain this with my example:
I wanted so badly to be successful. I had this vision of providing my wife everything that she could possibly want with our four doggies running around the perfect ranch and our three horses grazing on beautiful pastures. My goal truly wasn’t for me. I had put my own goals aside to focus on the greater good of success to make my family happy…
But its so easy to get caught into the “suck.” Just like I did. You start out on a positive mission that turns into an all out war to reach that goal. Next thing you know, you’re family never sees you and you’ve completely disregarded everything you started working for in the first place.
I almost lost my marriage to this “success disease,” as I call it. I was bringing home the money, but my wife was hating who I had become; and I wasn’t to fond of myself either. My wife being fed up with me was probably one of the best things that ever happened to me.
It’s not hard to pull yourself from the trenches of the “success disease,” and discover that balance is all around you waiting to be grasped. Positive balance that makes you utterly awesome in every area of your life. Awesome in your business, awesome in health, awesome in LIFE!
And it all starts with making one optimized decision to be the best version of yourself and to never, ever lose sight of the irrefutable end and the ones who support you day in and day out.
